Bukit Bintang in KL

Bukit Bintang (or Starhill) is the name of a shopping and entertainment district in Kuala Lumpur, and the road that runs through it, Jalan Bukit Bintang. The area has long been Kuala Lumpur's most prominent retail belt that is home to many landmark shopping centres, caf├ęs, clubs, shops, malls and specialty shops. This area is popular among tourists and locals, both young and old alike.  Stalls are located everywhere selling souveniers depicting Malaysia culture, ranging from the small items to the big items.

Bukit Bintang is located within three main roads: Jalan Bukit Bintang starts from Jalan Pudu and intersects with Jalan Sultan Ismail. The district is bordered by Jalan Raja Chulan at the north and Jalan Imbi at the south. There are a number of hotels, service apartments and restaurants located in this area and not forgetting the hawker-styled eateries.  One's palate would definitely be satisfied and not forgetting its value for money as you savour the cheap yet mouth watering hawker food set in a very open and friendly ambience. One would be spoilt for choice with the many varieties of food galore here. You can savour authentic Chinese, Malay, Indian food almost in every corner of Bukit Bintang.  If you are looking for fast food, you will also be spoilt for choice.

Bintang Walk is located along the Jalan Bukit Bintang shopping strip. This place has been transformed over the last 5 years to be one of the busiest shopping areas in the city, though the decentralisation of malls in Malaysia of late has seen more shopping malls sprouting around the edges of the city at an unprecedented rate. Despite this, upscale cafes, restaurants and clubs continue to make its presence felt here. On weekends, thousands of locals as well as tourists throng Bintang Walk and its shopping centres. Almost every major nightlife event happens here such as the New Year's countdown, Merdeka eve celebrations, as well as fashion shows, street concerts and parties.  You can call it a place that hardly sleeps as every nook and corner is alive- bustling with activites of all sorts.

Getting to Bukit Bintang is easy.  You can either take the LRT or by local cabs and not forgetting by bus.
